Staff are trained in project management techniques to improve efficiency and, moreover, client service. That's one thing the firm stresses heavily: it is not coy about how it has developed a unique, collaborative service culture to deliver a top-notch service. Work ranges from corporate to the education sector, where the firm has recently acted on some high profile deals. The firm was recently placed by the Times as one of top 100 graduate recruiters in the country.

Trainee profile

Eversheds' people are valued for being straightforward, enterprising and effective. The firm listens to its clients. It likes to simplify rather than complicate. It expects trainees to be business-like, unstuffy and down-to-earth. You will need to display commercial acumen, imagination and drive and above all, you will need to be results driven. As a trainee you will get as much responsibility as you can handle and will benefit from the "hands on, learning by doing" philosophy. The firm takes your training very seriously but expects it to be fun too.

Training environment

You will be encouraged to play a major part in the direction your training and development takes, with advice and supervision always available. In each department you will sit with a partner or a senior assistant and participate from an early stage in varied, complex and high-value work. Eversheds aims to retain as many trainees as possible on qualifying and many of the partners were trainees with the firm. A steep learning curve begins with a week of basic training followed by departmental seats - three of which will cover the firm's main practice areas. During your training you will also complete an Eversheds designed Professional Skills Course and, on qualification, follow a progressive career structure.
